Presented By: Silence The Shame Presented By: Take What You Need Sunday, July 26th 7 PM – 8 PM EST A Pathway to Change. Over 37 years ago, BWHI was established with a vision of helping Black women. We’ll hear from the organization’s pioneers, current leaders and voices of tomorrow about how that vision has been realized since then, and where we plan to go beyond 2020. After decades of caring for children, spouses, church commitments, community projects, and everything else, we are excited to encourage women to commit to a lifestyle of wellness through a renewed interest in self-care! Our panel includes a dynamic group of women ages 45 through 83 willing to give insight about their own wellness journeys while encouraging our viewers to have a renewed sense of self. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, social unrest and just being a black woman in America has taken its toll on the emotional and mental wellness of women everywhere. BWHI will co-host an important forum with Atlanta-based non-profit Silence The Shame to discuss strategies and solutions for pursuing emotional and mental wellness while surrounded by challenges and uncertainty. Maternal mortality among Black women continues to be a major issue in communities across the nation. Our esteemed panel of guests will provide insight about why this is, and also some solutions to help prolong the lives of Black mothers and babies. Thursday, July 30th 2 PM – 3 PM EST Uterine fibroids, a common and significant health problem, affect an estimated 26 million women between the ages of 15 and 50, across all racial backgrounds and socioeconomic levels in the United States, yet many adolescent girls and women are unaware of what uterine fibroids are. Our panel will explore the lived experiences of Black women coping with this condition and options for relief and management. Saturday, August 1st 3 PM – 4 PM EST Many young Black women are rising through the ranks and working hard to achieve in their lives and careers, but at what cost?
